How do I place an order? TOP

I aim to provide a friendly, honest and reliable service for customers to buy with confidence! 

 

ORDER ONLINE - by clicking the ORDER button alongside each product and the VIEW CART/CHECKOUT button to see what goodies are in your basket and to complete your order when you have finished shopping. You can do this even if you don not wish to actually pay online.

PAY BY CHEQUE - select CHEQUE on the checkout page as your payment method at checkout for this option, (make cheques payable to K CUMING) and pop it in the post after placing your order.

PAY ONLINE - by selecting the card option at checkout.

 

I am often working at the sewing machine rather than the tippy tappy machine so apologies if there is a delay answering any queries!

 

About the checkout / payment pages....

All payments go through a secure server.

Once you have filled out your name, address, etc you will be asked how you want to pay. The option to pay by credit card or direct cash payment are both carried out by paypal. You don't have to have a paypal account to do this, paypal is just used as a 'secure payment gateway' so to speak. This is why you are transferred to a secure paypal page on your screen, it will then let you choose. If you are a paypal customer you can transfer money direct from your own bank account OR if you are'nt a customer you can safely enter your credit / debit card details to make a payment. There is no charge for this, and they won't store your card details. Fairysteps pay the charges for them to do the transaction not the customer.

DELIVERY TIMES

UK customers - Allow up to 5 working days for despatch from date of purchase (I do not live anywhere near a town / village, so to reduce environmental impact I only travel to the Post Office once a week). If paying by cheque please allow for postage times, I can't send goods out untill your payment has cleared!

 

OVERSEAS customers may be liable to pay import duty tax on reciept of your parcel, please check at your local post office before ordering to find out if this applies to you!

 

POSTAGE / SHIPPING COSTS

Postage costs have been kept to a minimum and have been worked out on a value / weight / packaging / travelling costs to the post office, basis. All postage charges will be shown in your basket before checkout.

 

UK POSTAGE

£0.00 - £5.00 = 1.50

£5.01 - £23.00 = £2.50

£23.01 - £50.00 = £4.50

£50.01 - £100.00 = £7.50

£100.01 and upwards = £9.00

 

EUROPEAN POSTAGE

£0.00 - £23.00 = £4.50

£23.01 - £50.00 = £7.50

£50.01 - £100.00 = £13.00

£100.01 and upwards = £16.00

Overseas parcels are sent by 'International signed for' with additional compensation cover.

 

WORLDWIDE POSTAGE

£0.00 - £23.00 = £6.50

£23.01 - £50.00 = £10.50

£50.01 - £100.00 = £18.50

£100.01 and upwards = £22.00

Overseas parcels are sent by 'International signed for' with additional compensation cover.

 

Very large / expensive parcels may incurr additional postage/shipping charges, if this is the case I will email you!

 

I FORGOT TO ADD SOMETHING TO MY ORDER! Can you refund the extra postage?

Depending on the cost / weight / size of the second item purchased I will usually refund the extra postage costs that you paid (if I havent already posted it!). So carry on and place your additional order sending me a little note in the 'message to fairysteps' box on the VIEW CART page explaining whats what please!

 

PACKAGING 

Inside your parcel will be instructions on how best to care for your new purchase accompanied by a receipt of sale. All sales are carefully wrapped in tissue paper and either boxed or bagged where appropriate. For the benefit of the environment (for the fairies and us), I recycle some boxes and packaging. Only clean, sound boxes will be reused. Occasionally I will also use those horrible plastic 'air filled pockets', again recycled from another companies waste.

All interior packaging that comes into direct contact with the product is new and I try to purchase 100% recycled packaging materials where possible. 

Packaging creates an enormous amount of environmental pollution so I do try to do my bit by keeping Fairysteps packages as green as possible!

Until recently I offered a bespoke service for shoes, bags, belts and pouches...then I realised that I only had 2 hands and was Human. The shock was quite overpowering at first, but I pulled myself together and decided that it was OK to just offer stock.

I am working towards a goal of having a good selection of styles in all sizes so keep checking either the Blog, Facebook or the website for stock update notices. They will happen more often now!

Lots of you will be pleased by this (less of a headache choosing...), others crestfallen, I'm a rotter, sorry!

Is there a shop where I can try on FAIRYSTEPS items? TOP

I am afraid not!

I run an internet only business... and fairy shoemakers are rather shy beings!

The online shop has been set up to allow customers to do everything but touch the goods. Hopefully the pictures are so good you wont feel you have to!

See the information pages at the bottom of the website for full details of everything to do with sizing, ordering, returns, care, etc.

My workshop address is not set up to recieve customers, I hope you understand!!

Fairysteps sells worldwide. 

BUT remember, you may be liable to pay duty tax on reciept of your parcel! Please check before ordering as Fairysteps is not liable to pay these fees.

Terms & Returns TOP

• If you are dissatisfied with your purchase (perish the thought), please return the item within 7 days for a refund. Refunds will only be given if goods are returned unused and as new in their original packaging. Please avoid scratching or marking the leathers.
• If you smoke please make sure that the item is sent back quickly before it absorbs any smokey smells! Some people find smokey odours unpleasant and this will render the item useless for resale.
• The refund amount of any order will exclude the initial postage and packing costs which are non refundable. Please include a note stating your reason for return.
• Special Order non-standard goods may not be returned.
• Orders cannot be accepted without full payment.
• The customer is responsible for the accuracy of any measurements taken and for assessing the suitability of stock footwear and other items for personal use.
• Please try shoes on indoors on a clean surface, wearing thin socks to keep the interior of the shoe clean.
• Footwear may be returned for a full refund (excluding post and packaging costs) provided they are returned unused and undamaged within 7 days of receipt.
• We reserve the right to cancel any order if we feel that the specific requirements of the order cannot be fulfilled.
• Customers receiving goods outside the EU will be responsible for any local taxes or duties.
• Any information that we hold on you is in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not pass your details to any other business.
• Customers ordering footwear with pointed toes should be aware that Fairysteps is not liable should you trip and injure yourself in any way. They are to be purchased and worn at customers own risk. I personally have never tripped up but I do have to put this disclaimer here. Make sure your wings are working first...
