Inside your parcel will be instructions on how best to care for your new purchase accompanied by a receipt of sale. All sales are carefully wrapped in tissue paper and either boxed or bagged where appropriate. For the benefit of the environment (for the fairies and us), I recycle some boxes and packaging. Only clean, sound boxes will be reused. Occasionally I will also use those horrible plastic 'air filled pockets', again recycled from another companies waste.
All interior packaging that comes into direct contact with the product is new and I try to purchase 100% recycled packaging materials where possible.
Packaging creates an enormous amount of environmental pollution so I do try to do my bit by keeping Fairysteps packages as green as possible!

There are size conversion tables on the internet which will offer an approximate guide for customers wishing to order, BUT don't worry too much about the size as I will be making your shoes from your foot drawings and the measurements that you will be sending me in the post. The correct size number is not important, your drawings and measurements are!!
Don't forget to take all of the measurements above + your foot drawings AND allow a little extra time for the post!
What is a Special Order? TOP
For most of us choosing new shoes is an exciting, enthralling pastime.....
BUT there are a vast number out there who find it an absolute nightmare!
Mention the word 'shoes' and it brings back awful memories of being dragged around shoe shops with Mothers, desperate to find a pair that actually fit their childrens unusual feet. More often than not this problem increases in adulthood due to shoe shapes becoming even more restrictive.
Many women have to resort to wearing overlarge mens shoes, just to be able to find a comfortable width fitting. This cant go on!!!
I am very proud and happy to be able to help anyone out there who has lost the joy of choosing new shoes! Commercial shoe sizes, and 'shapes' do not accomadate the many millions of 'special' feet walking around this planet, Fairysteps does!
I can (and do) make bespoke shoes in odd sizes and widths for customers with 'special' feet but because of the extra time involved I do charge a little extra. This is because I will in effect have to draft a seperate pattern for each foot rather than a pair. However, if I feel that your shoes will need major alterations in order to fit I may well have to decline your order.
I usually request that customers who wear specialist orthotic aids stand on these before doing the foot drawings. Please talk to your Podiadrist before ordering and ask his / her advice if they feel a pair of bespoke footwear would be beneficial to you and your feet.
People with severe foot related problems should be fitted by a trained podiatrist and should not order.
If your feet have been very distorted from years of wearing ill fitting footwear I will be drafting a special sole template especially for your foot shape. I always try to balance the need for a pleasing 'shape' with your foots needs! Having said that FAIRYSTEPS are made in a very natural shape so will be found to be a breath of fresh air for many previously squished feet, curled up toes have been know to stretch and straighten out! Leather is a wonderfully accommodating material and does tend to give where needed.
Special order returns - *Customers should note that because the shoes have been made as a special order to fit an individuals specific requirements they are not re-saleable and are therefore not covered under the returns policy.

I cannot reserve places. I am sorry if this seems unfair but due to high demand I really do have to operate a strict queing system which sticks to certain policies, and in FAIRYSTEPS case that means that you enter the queue when I recieve your payment and order details!
You can order online to get straight in the queue AND still pay by cheque!
Do you use Vegan leather alternatives? TOP

Can I send an item back for a refund? TOP
If you are dissatisfied with your purchase (perish the thought), please return the item within 7 days for a refund. Refunds will only be given if goods are returned unused and as new in their original packaging. Please don't send goods back just because you've decided 'you didn't really want that colour after all', it costs me a lot of money for the materials and a great deal of time to make all of these treasures so carefully.
The refund amount will exclude the initial postage and packing costs which are non refundable. Please include a note stating your reason for return.

About the checkout / payment pages....
The option to pay by credit card or direct cash payment via paypal are both carried out by paypal, so once you have selected this option you will be automatically directed to the Paypal secure site. You dont have to have a paypal account, paypal is just used as a 'secure payment gateway' so to speak. This is why you are transferred to a secure paypal page on your screen, where it will then let you choose. If you are a paypal customer you can transfer money direct from your own bank account OR if you are'nt a customer you can safely enter your credit / debit card details to make a payment. There is no charge for this, and they dont store your details. I pay charges for them to do this for me.
